Solid Rock Baptist Church is a
fundamental, independent, Bible-believing, local congregation. We are
dedicated to preaching, teaching, and practicing the principles of the word of
God.
The BIBLE
We
believe that the absolute and final authority for faith and practice is the word
of God as contained in the King James 1611 Authorized Version of the Holy Bible.
We believe the Bible is inspired of and preserved by God. (2 Timothy 3:16; Psalm
12:6,7
The LORD
JESUS CHRIST
We
believe in the deity of Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, sinless life, vicarious
blood atonement for sinners, literal bodily resurrection from the dead, current
priestly intercession for the saved at the right hand of the Father, and His
soon return. (1 Tim. 3:16; 1 Pet 3:18; Rom 8:34; John 14:3)
SALVATION
We
believe that salvation is the free pardon of sins and the free gift of eternal
life to those who put their faith and trust in the Lord Jesus Christ and His
finished work upon the cross of Calvary, and that once saved the Christian is
eternally secure in Christ, and cannot "lose salvation. (Acts 13:38, 39;
Romans 6:23; Ephesians 2:8,9; John 5:24)
BAPTISM
We
believe that water baptism is by immersion and only for believers. It has no
saving merits whatsoever and is simply an act of obedience and a matter of
testimony for the Christian. It is to be done in the "name of the Father,
and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost." (Matthew 28:19)
SEPARATION
We
believe that Christians are a "peculiar people" who should be
"zealous of good works" and do their best to maintain a good testimony
for Christ before the world. Christians should attempt to live godly lives and
to keep themselves "unspotted from the world." (Romans 12:1,2; 2
Corinthians 6:17; Titus 2:14; James 1:27)
PROPHECY
We
believe in the pre-tribulation rapture of the church, followed by the seven year
tribulation period known as Daniel's "70th week," and the reign of
Antichrist, after which Christ will return with His church to setup His literal,
earthly, millennial kingdom. (1 Thessalonians 4:16,17; 2 Thess. 1:7-9;
Revelation 20:6)
EVANGELISM
We
believe it is the duty of every believer to witness for the Lord Jesus Christ.
Individually, and corporately as a church, we are responsible to "reach the
gospel to every creature" and to "teach all nations" through
local outreach and world missions. (Matthew 28:19; Mark 16:15; Acts 1:8)
