<![CDATA[Spring Bible Study Series]]>Thu, 26 Mar 2015 12:25:43 GMThttp://www.solidrockbaptist.net/upcoming-events/spring-bible-study-seriesADULT BIBLE STUDY SERIES

Solid Rock Baptist Church is going to have a Spring Adult Bible Study.

It will begin April 2, 2015. We will meet every Thursday night from 7 to 8:30 PM for approximately 6 to 8 weeks. The topic will be "A Sure More Word: Which Bible Can You Trust?" and we will be using the book by that title, written by R.B. Ouellette. The book will be provided for free if you faithfully attend the Bible study. The object of this study is to strengthen the faith and confidence of the Bible-believing Christian in his/her English Bible.

Please reply back to this email, and confirm that you will be attending. This way I can be sure to have enough books available. They will be provided free of charge for those who faithfully attend.

Please contact Pastor David Martin if you are interested or have any questions.
<![CDATA[Sunday Afternoon Bible Institute]]>Sat, 21 Feb 2015 04:32:54 GMThttp://www.solidrockbaptist.net/upcoming-events/fall-revival-services-2014The “MYSTERIES of GOD” in the BIBLE

We are attempting by the help of God to study the following in our Sunday Afternoon Bible Institute at Solid Rock Baptist Church. I trust they will be a blessing to our church, and through our church to the world about us. We plan to cover one mystery per week.

Please pray for us, and attend if you can. God bless.

The apostle Paul said, “Let a man so account of us, as of the ministers of Christ, and stewards of the mysteries of God.” (1 Cor. 4:1)

A “mystery” in the Bible is a previously hidden truth now made known by divine revelation, yet not fully understandable. (See Dan. 12:8-10 and 1 Peter 1:9-12) The mysteries could be called the “meat” of the Word of God. (1 Cor. 3:2; Heb. 5:14)

Christians are to be “stewards” of these mysteries, and what we learn from God “in darkness” (Matt. 10:24-28; the secrets of God - Psalm 25:14; the “dark sayings” of the Lord - Prov. 1:6) we are to dispense for Him to the Church and the world by word of mouth and the printed page, through Bible preaching and teaching, and our personal witness.

To know and understand the “mysteries” is to a have well-rounded education in the things of God, and to know the plan and program of God for the ages. (See Matt. 13:9-17)

We say that the Old Testament is the New Testament concealed and the New Testament is the Old Testament revealed. So, in the New Testament is where we find God removing the veil for us to see what the OT saints could only wonder about. The OT truths, as understood in the light of the NT, are shown to those whose heart turns to God. (2 Cor. 3:16; Matt. 13:17)

The 17 Mysteries Revealed in the New Testament

Mystery #1: The Trinity (Col. 2:1-3)

Mystery #2: The Incarnation (1 Tim. 3:16)

Mystery #3: The Resurrection (Col. 4:2-3)

Mystery #4: Redemption (1 Cor. 2:5-8)

Mystery #5: The Gospel (Eph. 6:19)

Mystery #6: The Faith (1 Tim. 3:9)

Mystery #7: God’s Will (Eph. 1:9-12)

Mystery #8: The Indwelling Christ (Col. 1:25-27)

Mystery #9: The Body of Christ (Eph. 3:1-10)

Mystery #10: The Church (Eph. 5:30-32)

Mystery #11: The Blindness of Israel (Rom. 11:25-27)

Mystery #12: The Rapture (1 Cor. 15:50-57)

Mystery #13: Iniquity [the Antichrist] (2 Thess. 2:1-10)

Mystery #14: Babylon the Great [Rome] (Rev. 17:5)

Mystery #15: God’s Conclusion (Rev. 10:7)

Mystery #16: The Seven Stars/Candlesticks (Rev. 1:12-20)

Mystery #17: The Kingdom (Matt. 13:11)

Preaching on the Theme
"Doctrine Matters!"

We live in a day the Bible foretold us about in 2 Timothy 4:3,4 - “For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves [false] teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth [of the written word of God], and shall be turned unto fables.” The answer to this problem is sound Bible preaching and teaching, and this what our Bible Conference will be addressing.

Guest Pastors Preaching will be:

Bro. Toure Carter (Morning Star Baptist, W. Memphis, AR)

Bro. Tim Ellis (Bethany Independent Baptist, Lake Cormorant, MS)

<![CDATA[The Christian Athlete]]>Wed, 15 Jan 2014 01:10:42 GMThttp://www.solidrockbaptist.net/upcoming-events/the-christian-athleteThe "Christian Athlete" Bible Study Series
Beginning January 19, 2014 in our Sunday Afternoon Services

The Winter Olympics are coming up soon where the world's best athletes will be competing for secular honor and glory.

As Christians we are supposed to run the race set before us and fight the good fight of faith that we might honor the Lord and one day receive a crown that fadeth not away at the Judgment Seat of Christ. To do this we must be in tip-to spiritual condition.

The Pastor will be preaching and teaching a 4 to 6 week series on the Christian Athlete. He will be comparing and contrasting the physical conditioning needed for carnal competition with the spiritual conditioning required to meet the demands of Christian service.

<![CDATA[Men's Bible Study Fellowship FALL 2013]]>Wed, 18 Sep 2013 13:38:12 GMThttp://www.solidrockbaptist.net/upcoming-events/mens-bible-study-fellowship-fall-2013It seems that we have started a "new thing" here at Solid Rock BC.
In the Spring we had a Men's Bible Study Fellowship that ran for 12 weeks and we studied about the Abundant Christian Life. This Fall we are going to conduct a 6 week session on the topic, "How To Study the Bible," with the emphasis on proper biblical interpretation and practical application. As we go through the study, we will also do something that I have not seen anyone else do, and that is, we will take some time to see how to actually use a reference Bible for study. (We will be using the Old Scofield Reference Bible, which I use and recommend, as do all good independent, fundamental, premillennial Baptists -- lol)

This study is for Christian men, and men that are seeking the truth. If you are a man interested in Bible truth, please contact me if you have questions before committing yourself to our study.

The sessions will run 6 weeks, from October 3, 10, 17, 24, and into November 7 and 14. They will be held on Thursday nights. Start time is 7 pm and we will try to be done about 8 pm. We meet at the church- house.

Again, this 6 weeks, one hour a night, commitment could change your life and improve your eternity.

I believe it will be fun, interesting, and informative, and "worth your while." Pray about coming and bringing a friend.
